November 9, 2010: Protest in Front of US Embassy in London/UK

06.11.10 (von ivk) Hundreds of concerned people are expected to join a protest on Tuesday 9th November 2010 between 4:00pm and 7:00pm outside the US Embassy in London. The protest will be in support of one of Afrika's most celebrated sons Mumia Abu Jamal, arguably the most famous death row prisoner in the world.

PRESS RELEASE…PRESS RELEASE…PRESS RELEASE

Mumia Abu Jamal is innocent! Release him now!

Mumia was convicted of murder on the basis of evidence that Amnesty International seriously questioned. Whilst the protest is raging, Mumia will face his final hearing to decide whether he is executed or imprisoned for life. He has no other options - every other available legal avenue of appeal has been exhausted.
The UK gathering will form part of a growing worldwide movement and will coincide with protests in France, Germany, Holland, Jamaica, the US, Canada and even Iran. More and more international notifications are coming forward as we approach the hearing date. A broad range of Afrikan and other grassroots community organisations will also be giving messages of solidarity to Mumia via the `Free Mumia Abu Jamal Campaign' in the UK. Solidarity messages from around the world will also be read out.
The evidence pointing to Mumia's innocence is so persuasive that in addition to attending the protest, organisers are urging concerned members of the public to fill in online petitions to:
1. US President Barak Obama (www.mumialegal.org)
2. US Attorney General Eric Holder (www.freemumia.com)
3. People in pursuit of truth and justice are also asked to ring Eric Holder's office on:
001-202-353-1555 or 001-202-514-2000 or write to him at:
FMAJC, PO Box 16, College Station, New York, NY 10030 or webmaster@usdoj.go, asking for a `Civil Rights Investigation' into Mumia's case.

RE: Free Mumia Now Campaign

I hope that this letter finds you and your organisation in good spirits. It is with great pleasure that the Pan-Afrikan Society Community Forum (PASCF) - working as part of the Free Mumia Worldwide Coalition - warmly invites fellow Afrikan liberation organisations to meet with us and lend your support in collaborating and demonstrating to save the life of Afrikan revolutionary – Mumia Abu Jamal.

We will be operating as part of a United-Front Demonstration outside the US Satan Embassy, Grosvenor Square, London SW1A on Tuesday 9th November 2010 from 4-7pm under the Slogans:

FREE MUMIA!
ABOLISH THE RACIST DEATH PENALTY!
FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS!

Aim and Objectives

The aim is to develop a broad based initiative of Afrikan led organisations collectively working to save the life of Mumia Abu Jamal. This will include professed anti-imperialist organisations as well as organisations that do not make anti-imperialist claims, but are willing to engage as part of this particular anti-imperialist initiative under the auspices of Mumia Abu Jamal as an anti-imperialist champion.

At the level of objectives, the purpose of the Free Mumia Campaign is to:
- Save the life of Mumia Abu Jamal
- Secure the freedom of Mumia Abu Jamal
- Challenge Racism
- Challenge the unjust death penalty – including extra judicial killings
- Provide support for Afrikan political prisoners
- Popularise the issues of injustice in the Mumia Abu Jamal Case
- Expose our young people to Mumia Abu Jamal and clarify his importance for them in their lives in Britain today
- Reinvigorate Afrikan people who were formerly active in the liberation community with a view to encouraging them to contribute once again
- Encourage new people, particularly young people to join Afrikan liberated orientated organisations
- Encourage united working on a principled basis amongst Afrikan liberation organisations in Britain
It is not intended that the organisations involved will share a common political line and all participating organisations will retain their autonomy. Throughout the planning process, each organisation will be encouraged to advance their reasons for supporting the demonstration. There will be full freedom of criticism where there are contending strategies on how best to go about carrying out the demonstration. We are simply asking Afrikan led organisations to unite on this occasion on the minimum level slogans:

FREE MUMIA!
ABOLISH THE RACIST DEATH PENALTY!
FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS!

In the meantime, thank you for your support. Forward to a liberated Afrika and just societies for Afrikan people in an Afrikan Diaspora free from drugs, gangsters, racism and corruption.

Brother Omowale
